ASIA CONTEMPORARY ART SHOW SPOTLIGHTS HONG KONG Local emerging and mid-career artists a key focus in October The 7th edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show, which opens at the Conrad Hong Kong on Thursday October 8th with an invitation-only VIP Collectors Preview, will present a diverse line-up of original paintings, limited editions, sculpture and photography, this time including a special focus on local artists. Director Mark Saunderson explained: “We are excited to present some promising local young and mid-career talent at the Show from October 8th to 11th. Hong Kong has a lot of unsung artists, sometimes hidden from collectors and art buyers. It is hard for Hong Kong artists to get the attention they deserve – art gallery overhead is high, and gallerists carefully weigh representing lesser-known local artists versus a sometimes easier path. “We have been working for the last year to put together a strong selection of Hong Kong artists and more than 100 of their works at the upcoming Show. Artists will include Martin Lever (Li Wah), Rachel Cheung Wai-Sze, TK Chan, Andrea Chung, Bobo Po, David Chung, Dragon Ken, Eva Chan, Fi, Heidi Leung, Lee Hon Nam, Ling Kwok Po, Vicky Ng and Claire Billson.”
