Building on the success of our annual Freespace Fest, a series of free outdoor events take place at West Kowloon on the second Sunday of each month from August 2015. Starting from December 2015, Freespace Happening will take place twice a month, on the second and fourth Sunday. Each Freespace Happening will feature music and a selection of special attractions. 27 Mar 2pm~7pm Bring your dogs to ‘Freespace Happening’ on 27 March! We know you enjoy a good picnic with your human and animal loved ones, hence we have put together a laid-back musical line-up on the Central Lawn that is great for a chilled afternoon. Performers include The Interzone Collective’s spellbinding ensemble of didgeridoo, handpan, mouth harp and other instrument; Bernardo y Amigos’ flamenco guitar and dance performance will feature a xiao player; and the local jazz big band, The 5422 Collective will wrap up the programme with a swing. Throughout the afternoon, indulge in an array of music performances under the tree or by the sea, featuring instruments like the shakuhachi, harp, guzheng and mandolin. Promoting positive communication between people and animals, learn about the dos and don’ts of taking your dogs on outings from the Hong Kong Dog Rescue – a charity that does a fabulous job of caring for and rehoming strays. You can also shop for hand-made accessories and snacks for your dogs at their booth! The House of Hong Kong Literature has invited writers and arts practitioners to chat with audiences about pets and literature. You can also explore the Nursery Park through literature by joining their orienteering game. Follow the map to visit all the check points to collect your own poem. If you have books you want to share with other audiences, bring them to our Reading on the Grass Library.
