Following a tremendously successful inaugural event in 2014, Pink Dot Hong Kong announced its return to Tamar Park on Sunday, 20 September to celebrate diversity under the theme “Love Is Love”. Co-organised by BigLove Alliance and Pink Alliance, supported by Covenant of the Rainbow, Pink Dot Hong Kong is one of Hong Kong’s most anticipated LGBTI events. A celebration of love for all, young and old, Pink Dot is a free, fun, non-political outdoor concert and carnival organised for allies, families, friends, and colleagues of LGBTI. Pink Dot is an all-inclusive event advocating for diversity and love equality.
In 2014, Pink Dot Hong Kong attracted an estimated 12,000 visitors, closing the event with a free concert featuring Anthony Yiu-ming Wong, Denise Ho, Alex To, C AllStar, Jing Wong, Lil' Ashes, MC Yan, Shine, Ellen Loo, Vincci Cheuk and more.
This year, Pink Dot Hong Kong will include yet more local celebrity ambassadors, with rising Hong Kong film and television star Gregory Wong being announced as the first. In addition, Covenant of the Rainbow, the religious collective in support of the creation of inclusive church communities where all are welcome including sexual minorities, will be joining as supporting organization this year.
The event will be held in the afternoon of Sunday, 20 September on the sprawling green lawns of Tamar Park in Admiralty with picturesque views of the Victoria Harbour. To symbolise love and as a way to create high visual impact, participants will be encouraged to wear pink.
In 2015, the “Love Is Love” theme will be integrated throughout the Pink Dot programme, with an outdoor picnic and fair, multiple art and craft activities for all ages adding colour to the day, as well as a closing concert featuring Anthony Wong and Denise Ho and a league of well-known Hong Kong performers.
