Speaker: Yat Siu, CEO and Founder of Outblaze Outblaze is a digital conglomerate based in Hong Kong let by Yat the founder of various technology companies including Animoca and Animoca Brands, two cross-platform mobile app publishers responsible for major hits including the blockbuster Doraemon Gadget Rush. Yat feels that our education system works against promoting creativity in Hong Kong by placing too much emphasis on memorising, copying and compliance at the cost of important skills like problem solving and creative thinking. He believes that current high-homework education trends displace time that children should have for unstructured play, a key component for learning and personal development. This discussion will focus on what can be done to improve Hong Kong’s creative talent pool for the future, starting from children’s education. Free admission, please book by registering online: http://www.hkmaritimemuseum.org/chi/whats-on/calendar-of-events/79/131/developing-creative-talent.html - Walk-in is also accepted subject to availability.
