To support a local produced Musical "The Bluebird of Happiness" - a truly international level production produced by local theatre talents in HK. “The Bluebird of Happiness” is a musical theatre adaptation of the play written by Belgian playwright and Nobel Prize Winner, Maurice Maeterlinck. It is a delightful Christmas story about a brother and a sister, Mytyl and Tyltyl, who are on a quest for the magical blue bird that will bring them all the happiness they desire. They suddenly find themselves on an exciting adventure - meeting enchanting characters that help them learn heartwarming and valuable lessons along the way. The cast of 20 professional actors, actresses, vocalists and dancers, together with 10 brilliant and enthusiastic children who will be performing in "The Bluebird of Happiness" comes from a multi- cultural background - namely American, British, Irish, Chinese, Australian, Spanish, Bangladesh and Filipinos. Corinna Chamberlain A professional Hong Kong actress and singer, will also be a part of the cast - playing the role of the fairy, "Light". She will guide Mytyl and Tyltyl through their journey, advising them of the path to take but ultimately allowing the children to follow their own desires and realize what is truly in their hearts. Corinna graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Musical Theatre. She has participated in various shows and concerts; joined TVB's great hit drama series 'Inbound Troubles' & 'Come on, Cousin' and also came third in a singing contest 'The Voice of the Stars'on TVB. Terry Zou A singer & song writer who has already released 3 albums in Hong Kong. Raised up in a musical family, Terry started writing his own songs at the age of 12, since then he never give up on music. Shimica Castro, Wong Born in Spain, Shimica moved to Hong Kong at the age of three. As a child she had been passionate about music and would not stop singing, Nominees and Awardees of “The 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards”, Best Original Film Song performer “The Way We Dance” During Christmas of 2013, Asia's premiere Christian theater group, TRUMPETS, brought the story to the stage for the new generation to enjoy, under the direction of Jaime Del Mundo and original music by Rony Fortich. This production received numerous acclamations including "The Best Musical", "The Best Music and Musical Direction", and many more. The rave reviews praised its captivating story, music, talented cast, and magical production design. In 2014, MQ Musical Theatre brought “The Bluebird of Happiness” to Hong Kong, received positive comments from audience and reviews. This year, October 2015, “The Bluebird of Happiness” will be re-run in Hong Kong, presented by MQ Musical Theater again, a musical theatre company that has been promoting fun family entertainment to Hong Kong audiences, young and old, since 2002. This is truly a local theatre production that Hong Kong people should be proud of.
