The Consulate General of Israel in Hong Kong will showcase the hottest and most unique Israeli design at a pop-up shop at the PMQ in Central from October 23 to November 19, 2015.
25 established designers and promising new talents of their own design fields will give their perspectives of Israeli design through high-end productsin fashion and accessories, jewelleries, paper toys, textiles, furniture, kitchenware, home ware, and solutions in branding and imaging, etc.
The creativity of these Israeli designers extends from the use of new or green materials to the innovative and modern methods of processing. While some of them focus on traditional hand craftsmanship handled with cutting-edge techniques.
The results, to be shown at the pop-up shop, will be some unexpected headpieces, jewelleries that are challenging to wear, 3-D-looking lampsthat are actually 2-D, vintage-inspired PVC mats and ceramic coffee tables, to name just a few.
It’s a glimpse of the Israeli lifestyle – colour, fun, surprising, Middle Eastern, sophisticated, modern and artistic.
This pop-up shop will provide a platform for the Israeli designers to connect with the local brands and retail industry of Hong Kong. To engage with the public and design professionals in Hong Kong, a new website, Facebook page and othersocial media will be launched to feature all the updates and designer profiles.
The grand opening will be held on October 22 and other happeningssuch as business meetings, meet- the-designer events and lecture will also take place in the pop-up shop.
