The show features exhilarating choreography and some of the world’s most stylish ice-dancing from Artistic Director Tony Mercer, widely regarded as the world’s leading creator of theatre on ice. The skaters, who between them hold more than 250 competition medals, will tell the classic love story through precision leaps and throws – and daring manoeuvres so complex they haven’t yet been named – coupled with graceful and sublime ice dancing. In addition, awe-inspiring acrobatics, flying sequences, aerial gymnastics and spectacular fire-on-ice add drama and mystery to the theatrical experience. The dazzling and sophisticated costumes are designed by renowned costumier Albina Gabueva of Moscow’s Stanislavsky Theatre, and made by the Bolshoi Ballet’s famous costume cutters. For over a decade, the Imperial Ice Stars have enthralled almost four million people in 27 countries across five continents, from Toronto to Tokyo, Sydney to Singapore and Cape Town to Cyprus. The popular troupe is excited to return to Hong Kong after performing The Nutcracker on Ice here in 2012.
