About the Exhibition: “No one has ever seen a perfect circle, nor a perfectly straight line, yet everyone knows what a circle and a straight line are.” By Plato Every drawn circle is unique, but they all direct on circularity with the inevitable miss. Even so, every time we draw a circle, we are linked with the ideal circle through the failed one under our hands. Painting is similar to drawing a circle. Painter directs on an ideal “circularity”, it may impossible to be accurately named or shaped, and it may even be impossible. But painters can be connected to this perfection through painting which is always “in process”. In the exhibition OOOOO, five painters will show their failed circles. They wander with different content and direction, but after all, they direct on the impossible “circularity” through the failed circles.
