We are proud to announce that The First Art Basil is going to be held from 10th March to 8th April ,2016 in PMQ Central. This may be proclaimed as the smallest scale of art fair in the world. Even international cities like London, New York and Paris have never organised this before, basically no one knows. The gaining popularity of art fairs as well as the sudden news of Hong Kong being a cultural city, these made us to reflect upon the essence of arts. Apart from economic benefits, arts should serve its function of encouraging community cooperation and communication, establishing cultural identity and self-consciousness. Most importantly, it’s just for fun. Art Basil, organised by Open Quote, has invited 9 locally based innovative illustrators participated in h-y-p-h-e-n. This collaboration aims to pay tribute to world-class artists. Without sponsorship and the participation of most established galleries, we would like to present the significant local artworks and we hope Art Basil will give impetus to local art life, pure and fresh as basil. The fair will be scattered around PMQ, the second issue of h-y-p-h-e-n will be launched at the same period. The opening ceremony will be held at 15:00 on March 19, come and join us!
