香港手作設計展是一個以手作為主題的展覽，除了市集外，亦有提供體驗手作製作過程的工作坊體驗區，體驗區是給參觀人士親身參與手作過程的體驗機會，希望透過這次展覽,為手作人士提供一個更具規模、更穩定、更具潛力的銷售及交流平台，向公眾人士展示他們的作品及交流心得。
由於第一屆手作展的申請反應非常熱烈，亦得到了很多寶貴意見及經驗，有見及此，第二屆手作展將會由一天展覽期延長至兩天。
