The onset of Hong Kong’s sultry summer means it’s time to dig out your coolest outfits and get into carnival mode – especially this year when the world’s eyes will be focused on the most famous carnival city of all, Rio de Janeiro. So we’re going to give you a head start by staging our own spectacular Happy Wednesday Carnivale of Action on the race nights of 1, 15 and 22 June. The action is going to be hot, hot, hot as we offer this unique chance to blend the sporting thrills of horse racing with vibrant fiesta-style performances and an amazing party atmosphere. Happy Wednesday fans will know already that the Beer Garden has been steadily gaining a more Latin atmosphere since Carnivale became our regular band. They’re the only group in Hong Kong to include Cuban, Colombian and Dominican players, and are rated the best Latino band in town. You’ll soon found out why when you see charismatic frontmen Jordie Guzman and Chris Polanco and their team gets the party going with their infectious rhythms and great interactions with the crowd. And just to make the atmosphere even more authentic, we adding a team of sultry samba dancers on all three nights. If you upload your favourite photo to Facebook or Instagram with #HappyWednesdayHK, you’ll have the chance to win a gift voucher worth HK$1,000.
