Queen + Adam Lambert announced their Asia Tour that is going to happen in Japan, Singapore, Thailand and China. The band is set to perform their first-ever show in Hong Kong at AsiaWorld-Expo on 28 September 2016. The show is presented by AEG Live. Two more cities will be announced shortly.
Since first sharing the stage for the final of American Idol in May 2009, Queen + Adam Lambert have been confirmed worldwide as a successful partnership with over 70 sold out shows in every part of the world and a concert audience to date of well over a million people.
Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert first met during American Idol in May 2009, joining the finalists for a performance of “We Are The Champions”. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards for an electrifying eight-minute finale, and in the summer of 2012 they performed their first live concerts with appearances across Europe including playing live before half a million people in Kiev.
In March 2014 Queen + Adam announced a North American Summer tour. Not only did all 24 dates sell out almost overnight but at the end Queen + Adam Lambert were awarded Band of the Year at the 10th annual Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards and were also voted Best Live Band of the Year in Ultimate Classic Rock’s reader’s poll.
Queen + Adam Lambert topped off 2014 by performing to an audience of over 12 million TV viewers when they performed live for UK BBC Television’s New Year’s Eve spectacular Queen + Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben. In the subsequent 24 hours ‘Adam Lambert’ was the top of the trending searches on Google in the UK with more than 500,000 searches for his name.
2015 saw Queen + Adam Lambert back touring with 26 sold-out concerts in 10 countries throughout the UK and Europe taking their critically acclaimed show to France, Austria, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Poland.
This past month, May 2016, they returned again to Europe for fifteen shows headlining many of this year’s biggest summer festivals as well as some giant arena concerts.
Queen + Adam Lambert’s spectacular 2016 touring show has been tailor crafted for the band by some of the world’s most cutting edge creative talents who between them have provided innovation, design, lighting and special effects to some of the most iconic shows on the planet. Entertainment Architects Stufish Productions, who are responsible for the design and production of the show, are recognised for providing stage and set design for such artists as The Rolling Stones, Madonna, and Pink Floyd as well as being responsible for the production design of such major world events as the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony and Cirque du Soleil. The lighting for the show is designed by Rob Sinclair, one of the most acclaimed artists in his field, whose work has spectacularly lit tours by such major artists as Peter Gabriel, Kylie Minogue, Peter Gabriel and Adele. His design makes use of more than 300 moving lights. Behind the genuinely eye-popping laser show component of Queen + Adam Lambert’s new touring production is laser design specialists ER Productions whose work for the London 2012 Olympics opening and closing ceremonies was seen by over 900 million people worldwide. If any more were effects were needed, the show also makes use of the world’s most powerful low smoke machine, designed originally for the 2014 Winter Olympics, with enough power to fill six full size tennis courts 1 metre deep in smoke within a minute. Queen + Adam Lambert proudly claimed this as a unique stage effect as only two such machines exist in the world.
