Because of work and education opportunities, most people have left Tai O for urban areas and Tai O is now inhabited by mostly the elderly so cleaning up the entire fishing village is no easy task. We hope that volunteers will come and join our cleaning event – please see the details below. We would appreciate your help very much.
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 noon (registration starts at 9:30 a.m.)
Place: The concourse outside Tai O Rural Committee on Kat Hing Back Street (near Kwan Tai Temple)
What to bring/wear: water, sunblock, hat, shoes with a thick sole
Tools provided: hard labour gloves and plastic bags
How to get to Tai O:
i) take MTR to Tung Chung Station and catch no. 11 bus
ii) take Central Ferry to Mui Wo on Lantau Island and catch no. 1 bus
