Belgium Week is proud to showcase a wide range of contemporary Belgian Art and Artists at KEE Club and ArtOne, many showing in Hong Kong for the first time in November. The exhibitions are curated by Belgian Hong Kong-resident, Emilie Rolin Jacquemyns, who has brought together a varied collection of artists from galleries in Belgium and overseas, as well as private collections, notably from within Hong Kong. Known as one of the world’s highest number of art collectors per capita, Belgium is fast becoming a contemporary art hot-spot and the artwork presented throughout the week will showcase both established and exciting new artists from Belgium whose artworks reflect Belgium as a country; rich in culture and artistic expression. Photographer Yves Ullens de Schooten, who will be showcasing “The Theatre of Lights” using abstract photography as his medium to express emotion and energy brought by light and colour at ArtOne. The exhibition – Matières et contrast (Materials and Contrast) will be open to the public from 10:00am-7:00pm, Saturday 12th – Saturday 19th, also with guided Art Tours, registration required, in Wanchai on Tuesday 15th – Thursday 17th from 10:00am to 11:00am.
