“The Mission of Christ” – an epic Cantonese Musical Bonfire Theatre Association gladly presents a unique type of Cantonese stage musical . Adapted from the classical Gospel story, the musical centres on the life of Jesus Christ and His salvation of the world. Renowned Cantonese opera writer,Chen Jinrong composes the script and lyrics, Zhao Shiqiang, famous music expert, in charge of music and singing design, also conducts the Chinese orchestra. The well-known theatre and artistic director, James Mark headed the strong cast and crew include famous Cantonese opera artists Sin Kim Long and Tang Mi Ling ( respectively in the roles of Jesus and Virgin Mary) along with dozens of drama artists and dancers from the Catholic Rosary Evangelical Dance Group. With their support of excellent Cantonese singing, drama interpretation techniques, video mapping technology, special lighting effects and set design, the strong backstage team surely brings the audience a rich audio-visual experience.
