Broadway Circuit & AMC Cinemas

The Tempest – Synopsis In 2017, Broadway Cinema circuit will join hand with Royal Shakespeare Company, one of the most prestigious theatres in the UK, to bring 2 pieces of Shakespeare’s timeless masterpiece to the big screens in cinemas! King Lear (RSC 2017), one of the all-time greatest tragedies, will be brought to HK in mid-February 2017 while the magical The Tempest (RSC 2017) will be coming in May 2017! Robbed of his position, power and wealth, his enemies have left him in isolation. But this is no ordinary man, and this no ordinary island. Prospero is a magician, able to control the very elements and bend nature to his will. When a sail appears on the horizon, he reaches out across the ocean to the ship that carries the men who wronged him. Creating a vast magical storm he wrecks the ship and washes his enemies up on the shore. When they wake they find themselves lost on a fantastical island where nothing is as it seems... In a unique partnership with Intel, we will be using today’s most advanced technology in a bold reimagining of Shakespeare’s magical play, creating an unforgettable theatrical experience. Simon Russell Beale returns to the RSC after 20 years to play Prospero in a production directed by Artistic Director Gregory Doran. ‘State-of-the-art stagecraft’ – Financial Times ★★★★★ ‘Beale’s superb Prospero haunts hi-tech spectacle’ - The Guardian ★★★★ ‘Incredible’ ‘Lord of the Rings-style magic’ - The Telegraph ★★★★ ‘The visuals are true to the hype of a breathtaking order’ – Daily Telegraph ★★★★ Director : Gregory Doran Cast : Simon Russell Beale The Tempest (RSC 2017) Trailer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kBlFsmHsnc Creating The Tempest (RSC 2017) : https://www.rsc.org.uk/the-tempest/video-creating-the-tempest Screening Information 6-MAY 2017 (SAT) / 8:00PM / AMC Pacific Place 14-MAY 2017 (SUN) / 3:40PM / PALACE ifc 20-MAY 2017 (SAT) / 8:00PM / 百老匯 The ONE Ticketing : PALACE ifc / Broadway The ONE http://www.cinema.com.hk/en/movie/special/8 AMC Pacific Place https://www.amccinemas.com.hk//ticketing/movieDetail/16/9467
