Co-presented by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society and the North District Office, the “Under the Starry Night - Outdoor film shows in North District” will be held in two consecutive nights on 21 and 22 January 2017 (Saturday and Sunday) at Fanling Recreation Ground. Four films will be shown to the public for free and allow them to experience the magic of film under starry night.
Films suitable for teenagers and families have been selected for this outdoor screening, including Little Big Master, the highest-grossing domestic film of 2015, which is based on a true story where a lowly paid principal saves a village kindergarten; Frozen – Disney’s best-selling animated film ever; McDull, Rise of the Rice Cooker – in celebration of the 20th anniversary of McDull; and Midnight Diner 2, where food and stories are served in a Japanese eatery.
Located next to the MTR Fanling Station, the grass football pitch at Fanling Recreation Ground can accommodate an audience of over a thousand persons. Starting at 5:30pm, admission to the event is free, and there will be live music performances before the film screenings. Members of the public can bring their seating mat or stool.
