Together with the Museu Picasso in Barcelona, Hong Kong’s Times Square is honoured to present masterpieces by the legendary Spanish artist Picasso. The Picasso and Jacqueline Exhibition will be held in the Living Room Museum of Times Square from 26th February to 21st March 2017. The exhibition will be showing 13 pieces of artwork that Picasso, the most influential figure in 20 th century modern art, dedicated to his last wife Jacqueline. These art pieces are being exhibited outside Spain for the first time, a chance of a lifetime that should not be missed.
The 12 artworks (linocuts) in the exhibition were finished in 1962 using the linoleum printing technique – they are truly colourful and exquisite masterpieces inspired by cubism. The oil portrait of Jacqueline on canvas is a piece that belongs to the artist’s unique complete series that can be found in the Museu Picasso in Barcelona. The series consists of 58 paintings that Picasso produced in 1957.
