Description
Many things you can actually see in this physical world are sharing the concept of relativity - temperature, brightness and darkness, sizes, disarray and order. For many other things which you couldn’t see they are related to the concept of “co-existence” - Tai Chi, sadness and happiness as well as “Bėtter” and “Bitter”. Local visual artist Jasmin Cheung presented her solo exhibition “Bėtter” last autumn, using a controllable and dark environment, exhibiting a set of light-sensible, forms changing abstract painting to describe “the crumbled blessings” the artist once perceived according to her own words. As a musician, composer as well as the member of folk/rock band Stranded Whale, Tomii Chan wrote a song entitled “In Between The Woods” according to Jasmine’s exhibition last year. Stranded Whale also collaborated with Jasmine, did a crossover between their song “Grey” and “Bėtter” in the form of an animated video. The mentioned projects plus the Taiwan tour of “Bėtter” in 2016 and 2017 extended the original exhibition with quite a margin. Tomii and Jasmine are going to work together bringing a closure to “Bėtter” with some more new experiences - “Bitter: Never aligns” - on 14th July at @Hidden Agenda, Kwun Tong. Besides “Bėtter” and a new set of artworks from Jasmine, live music is also introduced and the show is summing up to be an interaction between the paintings, audiences and musicians with extra help from lightings and sets. We’ve invited electroacoustic/experimental act Life Was All Silence, insightful folk/experimental singer-songwriter Jonathan Yang and vibrant folk singer Jabin Law to join the performances, hope to bring you quality and diverse Hong Kong music apart from the exhibition itself. *For online purchase, please type in your phone number in the "add note to seller" column, and keep the email of purchase confirmation from Drip Music and show it to the receptionist by the reservation table on show date.
