Over a thousand harpists from all continents will convene in Hong Kong this July for the world’s biggest harp event, which includes concerts, recitals, workshops and seminars covering all aspects of harp musicology and performance. Themed “A Journey from West to East”, the 13th edition of this triennial event not only offers an exciting week of intellectual, cultural and musical exchange for harp professionals and enthusiasts alike, but also a series of concert featuring world renowned harpists and top musicians, both local and overseas.
The Gala Concerto Concert, The Banquet, will present 4 contemporary concertos, two of which are world premieres. Five leading international soloists, including Principal Harpists from the Vienna Philharmonic, Radio France Philharmonic and National Symphony Orchestra (Mexico), will perform with City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and Chinese conductor Yang Jiao.
