Co-presented by Hong Kong Art School and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, School of Professional Education and Executive development, the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied and Media Arts Annual Exhibition of Students’ Works 2017 entitled "ING" showcasing around 20 graduating students' artworks which are diverse in both contents and media. Issues ranging from individual experience to social topic are examined through various media, including publication, brand design, game design, media production and digital media etc.
The Chinese character "仍" (means "still") pronounces the same as "形" (means “shape”) in Cantonese and "-ING" (continuous form of action) in English. As a designer, no matter the designs are "still in progress" or "processing", their perseverance towards design keeps them moving on. Even though design seems like labyrinth, they will keep searching a proper way to go as their life-long goals. Every end they reach will never be their destination, it will become parts of their experiences in their journey of searching.
The symbol in the design also represents graduating students’ enthusiasm towards design. They use both broken lines and smooth curves to create the graphics, pursuing the harmony between 2D and 3D. They also take the elements of the logo into the consideration for the design of their graphics and symbols, aiming to strike a balance.
