The long anticipated Japanese Retro Psychedelic Rock Group, GLIM SPANKY, is excited to bring their first ever gig to Hong Kong. Rolemodel Entertainment Group (REG) has just announced GLIM SPANKY’s debut "CARNIVAL TOUR 2017-2018 in Hong Kong" and it will be held on Saturday, 13 January 2018 at Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Center, Music Zone @ E-Max. Tickets from HK$480 go on public sale starting from Friday, 13 October 2017 onwards via Cityline and Tom Lee Music Stores.
GLIM SPANKY has got a brilliant vocalist/guitarist, Remi Matsuo, who possesses a unique and sexy voice and a talented guitarist Hiroki Kamemoto. While embracing the sound of 60-70’s blues and rock, they create the sound of the new generation, showing rock music is a part of the culture along with art, literature, and fashion.
GLIM SPANKY debuted in 2014 with the EP “Shousou”. Remi’s distinctive husky voice inspired many artists/creative directors and resulted in singing for 9 TV commercial songs so far. Their 2nd full album, “NEXT ONE” reached #9 on the Oricon Weekly Album chart and #1 on the iTunes Rock Album chart.
In 2016, their songs, “Ikari Wo Kureyo” and “Yamini Mewo Koraseba” were selected as theme songs for the films, “ONE PIECE FILM GOLD” and “Shojo” respectively, which was unusual for a new artist.
After their successful sold-out show at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall this June, GLIM SPANKY confirmed their album tour, with 20 shows starting from this October, followed by their first solo shows in Hong Kong and Taiwan in January 2018. This first ever gig of GLIM SPANKY is absolutely something that fans should not miss!
