Space 27 is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition ‘I, Nature’, a showcase of 18 artpieces by Hsu Yung Chin, a Taiwanese calligrapher and artist.
Over the past few decades, as Hsu Yung Chin’s inner world has transformed, so too has his choice in art forms. Without effort or pretense, the calligrapher gradually entered the world of painting. His new paintings are not a distortion of pure calligraphy, nor are they simply abstract paintings: they are a new aesthetic, created by free movement of both body and paint. These paintings express both the subtle and the profound. They are an open-minded and insightful look at the self in the world, a self that is sometimes at ease and sometimes in chaos.
There will be a co-current exhibition of ‘SILKROAD’ by Alan Chan.
Influenced by tea culture, the Tea Ceremony Table set is the latest addition to the ‘SILKROAD Collection’; whereas the existing furniture designs are inspired by 17th century Victorian conversation love chairs. The sculptural pieces are all handcrafted in dark walnut wood and adorned with Asian aesthetics.
'SILKROAD Collection’ premiered at the Shanghai City Pavilion during Milan Expo 2015 and showcased at International Design Furniture Fair Hong Kong in 2015 and 2017.
*It's not open for public on 15th December
