“Final Stop: Hong Kong Draw hard, PLAY hard!” There is no such thing as having too much of PLAY! After touring four months to Europe and Japan, it’s time for the dynamic Hong Kong comics to PLAY back home. Hong Kong Arts Centre, with the sponsorship of Create Hong Kong of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, proudly presents PLAY! Hong Kong Comix Touring Exhibition (PLAY!) in 2017/18, traveling with three groups of local comics artists and professionals to Brussels (Belgium) and Helsinki (Finland) in September 2017 and Tokyo (Japan) in November 2017. This touring exhibition showcases the history and development of Hong Kong comics from the 1960s to present, supplemented by talks, live drawing demonstrations and autograph sessions. For its final stop, PLAY! returns to Comix Home Base in Wan Chai, Hong Kong from 10th January to 1st February 2018 to share with the local public the development of the unique Hong Kong comics, and how it has become more diverse and "playful" over the last 60 years. The highlight of this exhibition will see all nine Hong Kong comics artists and professionals participated in the Europe and Japan stops to gather in Hong Kong and share their experiences gained in each stop with local readers through a series of talks and live drawing demonstrations to “ink their spirits”. To supplement the exhibition, five overseas comics artists and professionals join the party to spark creativity with our local “paper players”!
