After thousands of years of evolution, Hanzi (Chinese characters) still takes an indispensable role in our daily life nowadays. But, how could designers utilize ‘Hanzi’ to construct their thoughts and present the aesthetic values? Come and visit the ‘Hanzi Exhibition’ hosted by PMQ to adore and applaud the magnificent ‘Hanzi’ by yourself! Sponsored by *Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) and curated by local veteran designer Benny Au, the exhibition showcases the work of more than 100 designers from Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Macau, Japan and Korea, where Hanzi is still being used. Meanwhile, the Exhibition explores the changes, development and future of Hanzi through its interaction with modern social life and the influences of modern technology. Among the featured designers, there are renowned artists such as, Dr Kan Tai-keung and Sammy Or from Hong Kong; Han Jia Ying and Jiang Hua from mainland China; Katsumi Asaba and Kazunari Hattori from Japan; as well as Yu Ming-lung from Taiwan. The new generation of designers also showcase their works with forward-looking perspectives. There is also an array of activities which are all free of charge, including Hanzi Dialogue, Design Workshops and Parent-child Workshops.
