International pianist Ivan Yanakov returns to City Hall with a new programme. Starting with Chopin’s Second Piano Sonata (famous for its Marche funèbre), followed by his contemporary Franz Liszt, the recital will end with Igor Stravinsky’s own piano transcription of his “Petrouchka” ballet. Yanakov will also perform a selected group of Preludes and Études-tableaux by Rachmaninoff. Ivan Yanakov will perform his own transcriptions of Chinese and French music, and works by compatriot Bulgarian composers; Pancho Vladigerov, and Grammy-nominated Dobrinka Tabakova.
