The Music Office Annual Gala is a splendid music showcase featuring over 400 young musicians from 5 flagship groups of the Music Office performing an east-meet-west repertoire, including 'Crucifixus', 'Sinfonia for string orchestra No. 2 in D major', 'Symphonic Dances Op. 45', 'La Fiesta Mexicana' and 'Terra Cotta Warriors Fantasia' etc. Music Office Youth Choir Established in 1980 with a repertoire that spans from sacred to secular, classical to popular, and Chinese to Western, the Choir has performed regularly in local concerts and collaborated with many visiting music groups Crucifixus ----------Antonio Lotti Les Djinns (The Djinns) ----------Gabriel Fauré Precious Lord ----------Thomas Dorsey/ arr. Many of its former members have pursued their career in music, and become eminent performers or music educators in Hong Kong. Symphonic Dances Op. 45 ----------Sergei Rachmaninoff I.Non Allegro Capriccio Bohemien Op. 12 ----------Sergei Rachmaninoff Conductor: Lee Sing-wan ~ Intermission ~ Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band Established in 1978. The Band has been successfully nurturing generations of young eminent musicians, and proactively introducing band music to the public in Hong Kong. La Fiesta Mexicana ----------Herbert Owen Reed I.Prelude and Aztec Danceo II.Mass III.Carnival Conductor: Pak Wing-heng Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra Established in 1978. Since then, the Orchestra has performed in major events such as the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Festival Fringe, the Hong Kong International Youth Arts Festival, etc. The Orchestra has toured extensively also.
