Shakespeare4All Gala Performance 2019 -
“To be or not to be? That is the question.”
It’s 1839 Punjab, India, and Prince Hamlet questions his own life and fate for what he must do to avenge his father’s death. Is he mad? Or just mad in craft? His uncle, King Claudius senses his madness is not all that it seems and devises a plan to be rid of the Dark Prince forever, burying any suspicion of what he did to achieve his ambition.
‘Hamlet’ by William Shakespeare is the latest masterpiece of youth theatre brought to you in this September by Shakespeare4All and directed by Artistic Director, Shiona Carson. With a cast, orchestra, production team and volunteers of over 100 young people of age 8 - 15, this performance promises to astound you with their ability, talent and dedication. The young actors will be taking a 3 weeks’ drama training and rehearsals this August. This performance promises to take you through a magnificent journey of a brand new Shakespearean world that includes stage combat, puppet, singing and dancing.
Shakespeare wrote for the people and we at S4A endorse this with our work. We wish to give every child in Hong Kong an opportunity to reach higher than they have ever reached before, and we achieve this with Shakespeare’s work. Join us and experience a performance that will leave you in awe as well as humming the fabulous music of the iconic pop band ‘The Beatles.’
