The exhibition features works from a number of different series including ‘Gilded Youth,’ ‘Electric Flowers,’ ‘Signs’ and ‘Shadows’. Variously, these works give sculptural expression to the seductive pleasures of sun, sea, sand and skin that are enjoyed the world over, or re-invent neon as sculpture, or explore the joys of language. Artist’s Biography Jonathan Thomson was born in Whyalla, South Australia. He has lived and worked in Hong Kong since 1995 as an artist, arts administrator, art historian, critic and curator. Jonathan has held high-level positions in arts administration in both Australia and Hong Kong including Deputy Secretary General of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, Head of the Academic Services Office of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Adjunct Professor of Art History at SCAD Hong Kong. He is an independent curator and writes extensively on all aspects of global contemporary art. Jonathan has curated dozens of exhibitions throughout Asia for a variety of clients including Louis Vuitton, MGM China and Osage Gallery. His own work has been exhibited widely including shows in Adelaide, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kobe, Mykonos and Sydney.
