Hayao Miyazaki is a legendary master of the Japanese anime genre. A great storyteller, his works focus a lot on the relationship between humanity and technology, as well as anti-war themes. His films often feature strong female characters, and often been cited as one of the greatest animation filmmakers. His films are famous both in Japan and internationally, with popular films such as Totoro, Laputa, Princess Mononoke, and of course the Academy Award winner Spirited Away.
