Programme Description: The Stance is an award-winning monumental dance and sound performance that investigates collective bodies uniting in peaceful assembly. Having been presented by over 70 dancers globally, The Stance in Hong Kong is made in collaboration with the dancers from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Drawing from global acts of activism and intervention, this evocative endurance-based performance sees the dancers explore how and why people come together to take a stand. Dancers perform to a remarkable live score of composition transmitted through wireless headsets creating an intimate viewing experience for the audience. Co-produced by Acknowledgement: The Stance was first created with the support of Metro Arts. This project has also been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
