Memories are objective. There is no way one can subjectively record a person, a time or place. All one can do is deconstruct the whole scene into small pieces, then put all of them back together again. The more objective experiences of the five senses we collect, the closer we are to what has happened in the past. The importance of documenting reality is determined by what we hope for the future. These works were created by four different artists in their own discipline. Using their own ‘Kowloon’ personal histories, they have recreated their relationships to and feelings for the place. When music, words, scents and tastes are mixed together, thrown in time, what comes after this reconstruction of reality is your own new objective memory.
