Le French May Arts festival presents its 4th Live Jazz Series and this time in collaboration with World Jazz Live Series. Enjoy the ride: you will be listening to the soulful music and rhythms of some of today’s most talented jazz musicians inspired by different cultures. The first night features Laurent de Wilde “New Monk Trio“. This performance is a tribute to Thelonious Monk – the renowned pianist and composer. Internationally renowned jazz pianist, Laurent de Wilde has created a new album “New Monk Trio” for this occasion. The compositions have been rearranged for a high profile acoustic trio – Jérôme Regard on double bass, Donald Kontomanou on drums and Laurent de Wilde on piano. The three of them are showcasing an astonishing and contemporary vision of Monk’s art.
