The exhibition will showcase works and performances by Electronicos Fantasticos. This project led by Japanese artist and musician Ei Wada, aims to give new life to outdated electrical appliances. Together with a group of engineers they collect electronic devices that have outlived their usefulness and transform them into electromagnetic musical instruments. Barcoder is one their many inventions. This modified barcode scanner generates sound by connecting the scanned signal to the audio input, so that any striped patterns becomes sound waves. Electronicos Fantasticos is a creative community from Japan. They hack home electrical appliances and make instruments to play at live concerts.
