For most migrant domestic workers, Hong Kong is not just a place of work, bu already a second home. A place where they feel connected; a place where they can relate to the locals and see themselves as part of the community though they are stigmatized and still viewed as outsiders. “We Creating Home Kong” is a collection of photographs taken by migrant domestic workers to show how they see Hong Kong as their home. From important events to daily lives, similarities and differences of being a local/ residents and a migrant worker will be shown. Factors that are important for them to find and build their connection to the city and fin their place in the society. Despite the different backgrounds and circumstances they face and being forced to face the stigma that they are “just domestic helpers”, they are and will always be part of Hong Kong and thus creating a way to show that it is also their home.
