Programme TAN Dun | Three Muses in Video Game, Trombone Concerto (Asia Premiere) BRUCKNER | Symphony no. 7 Anton Bruckner heard the opening of his Seventh Symphony in a dream, played by an angel. And that’s just the start of a truly epic journey into a world that Jaap van Zweden (“the leading interpreter of Bruckner’s symphonies” – BBC Music Magazine) understands like few living musicians. It’s very different from Tan Dun’s brilliant homage to video games – but with the original dedicatee, Jörgen van Rijen, as soloist this is a National Day concert to unite very different (and equally wonderful) worlds. The concert runs approximately 2 hours with an intermission. Please note latecomers will miss the whole concerto, and the audience is advised to allow enough time for admission.
