The creation of a city is constructed in the process of constantly erasing, reconstructing, disappearing and reappearing. It is a process from nothingness to realization, from imagination to reality. Every development and life rhythm are traceable veins, round after round of movement, wave after wave of ups and downs. The trajectory of history seems to be a straight line, but it can also be a cycle, just like a spinning lantern turns constantly, more reality can be seen between the flickering light and shadow.
This project is a visual art exhibition, inviting 8 local artists to make three-dimensional light art installations. Artists combine the concept of traditional spinning lanterns with contemporary art media and use transitory experiences such as rotation, circulation, transformation, and gradual appearance or disappearance to transform an image, an impression, an emotion or a memory into the form of art. During the flux of light, the texture of light and shadow is highlighted, triggering the audience to see the world from different perspectives.
This exhibition is part of the "Flux of Light Installation Exhibition" sponsored by the Kowloon City Home Affairs Department, including 8 Hong Kong local artists and 40 students' works of "Spinning Lantern" displayed together.
Opening Reception: 2022 / 9 / 9 (Fri) 7 PM
