How do you capture a disappearing Hong Kong?
How do you savour a grain of sand, and see the beautiful world in it?
Start recording the beauty of life as soon as the dawn rises, then, perhaps, we could push back the fall of the night? There is a taste in every relationship, every memory, every place and every era: be it sweet, sour, bitter, spicy or salty; calm or passionate; happy, angry, sad or joyful. What do you think the taste of Hong Kong is?
This joint illustration exhibition is a collection of paintings and illustrations by five artists. With the theme of "Recording a Fading Hong Kong", they capture the scenery they hope to retain and the kind of "Hong Kong flavour" they want to remember.
*Free-take Postcard is designed by illustrator Yannis Chung.
Introduction of Venue:
Revtime specializes in British and French dishes. It gives customers little pieces of Paris and London. It also hopes to record a “dying city." The restaurant holds art exhibitions, sharing sessions, workshops, coffee and wine tasting, music concerts, etc. to carve out a breathing space for Hong Kongers.
There is a 3-meter-high mural on-site which is inspired by Chagall's paintings, he said his paintings are realistic, more realistic than the world we witness. The place we live has always been praised as a dream city, yet everyone is intoxicated by cash. After these years, are we misunderstood? Or is this the true face of our city?
