The 2023 Hong Kong Youth Music Camp, organised by the Music Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department is now open for application! Training by renowned maestros and the instructors of the Music Office will be offered in orchestral/choral training day camps, as well as the new Wind Ensemble Conducting Masterclass and Zheng Masterclass introduced this year.
Details of the day camps and masterclasses are below:
Camp A
Date: July 31 to August 5
Training groups: Children’s Choir, Junior Chinese Orchestra, Junior String Orchestra and Symphonic Band
Camp B
Date: August 8 to 13
Training groups: Chinese Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra
The two camps will provide training at designated music centres of the Music Office. Participants of the music camps will perform in the public concerts to be held on August 6 and 14 respectively at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong City Hall after completion of the training to showcase their achievements.
Wind Ensemble Conducting Masterclass
Date: August 1 to 4
Time: 5:30pm (11 hours in 4 sessions)
Venue: Music Office Tsuen Wan Music Centre
Zheng Masterclass
Date: August 10
Time: 6-8pm
Venue: Music Office Kwun Tong Music Centre and online
The deadline for application for the orchestral/choral training is March 28 while applications for the Wind Ensemble Conducting Masterclass and the Zheng Masterclass will be open from May 10 to June 8.
