Description
粵劇《夢斷香銷四十年》講述宋代詩人陸游與夫人唐琬哀怨的愛情故事。唐琬婚後三年未孕，陸母拜佛信讒，逼唐出家，命兒另娶王氏。唐悲懷身世，竟萌短見，得趙士程相救。唐為絕陸游愛念，嫁給趙氏。怨笛雙吹，陸游再娶日，唐琬再醮時。三年後，陸游沈園漫步，與唐、趙夫婦相遇，百感交集。陸游壁上題《釵頭鳳》後離去。唐琬讀詞後傷情病倒。及後和詞一首鬱鬱而終。四十年後，陸游再進沈園，傷情傷國，緬懷當年往事，不勝唏噓。
戲曲學院院長劉國瑛教授期望透過今次學院製作向觀眾呈獻音樂和表演專修學生共同努力的學習成果﹕「時代的改變以及急速的城市節奏，學院以精簡版《夢斷香銷四十年》呈現觀眾，從海報設計揭開序幕，足以感受到故事的意境‥‥‥《鑼鼓響》讓學生有機會磨練技藝，並在舞台上實踐所學。」
