綠匯學苑前身為舊大埔警署，是香港法定古蹟之一。嘉道理農場暨植物園藉「活化歷史建築伙伴計劃」，與香港特別行政區政府合作，把舊大埔警署歷史建築群活化成推廣永續生活的基地。
