旅美華人作曲家黃若的創作融會中西，他的《交響民謠》靈感源自〈鳳陽花鼓〉、〈康定情歌〉、〈蘭花花〉和〈達坂城的姑娘〉四首耳熟能詳的民謠，為刺激緊湊的管弦樂實驗。今年國慶音樂會由佩特連科執棒，並由秦立巍為海頓雋永的大提琴協奏曲擔任獨奏，最後以戴遼士和史達拉汶斯基兩首受春天啟發的作品作結。音樂會長約 1 小時 45 分鐘 包括一節中場休息。
