The indie-rock project led by singer-songwriter Bryan Cho (Jo Hyu-il), The Black Skirts are one of the most enduring acts to have emerged from South Korea’s indie music scene. Since debuting in 2010 with the album ‘201’, the band have developed a loyal following for their emotionally resonant sound, which manages to sound both nostalgically retro and strikingly modern at the same time. They’ve released five more studio albums since then, the most recent of which was 2022’s ‘Teen Troubles’, an impressive back catalogue to draw on when they take the stage at Clockenflap on Friday November 29.
