As we step into the 2020s, we are aware that the space we inhabit extends beyond what we know. Has film evolved beyond reflecting reality to actively shaping it? Has film become a tool for envisioning the future? Is it merely a creative medium, or has it subtly shaped humanity’s collective understanding of time and the possibilities ahead?

This work rearms and reinterprets my past ideas, using shifts in medium and form to explore the tension between the absurdity of reality and the brutality of fiction. To deepen my investigation into the relationship between time and media, I make use of three 1970s 8mm film projectors alongside three ultrasonic directional speakers. Audiences are invited to explore their own perspectives and think about how sound, visuals and time interact.
