About the Artist

Ation was born in Hong Kong in 1981 and currently resides and works there. He enjoys reading about art history and prefers abstract techniques and rich colors in his work. In 2008, he held a solo exhibition at Taikoo Place, where he experimented with various methods to create multiple pieces, including using solidified acrylic fragments to collage patterns and creating three-dimensional works using canvas. In recent years, he has reflected on his childhood before he began his painting career. As a young boy, he was passionate about manual crafts. He hopes his future works will incorporate elements of manual craftsmanship. For example, using canvas instead of paper to create “origami art,” evoking his past self while seeking his future self.
