2012 celebrates The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's 75th Anniversary. With the School of Design's move to the new Innovation Tower in 2013, the Annual Show has returned to the studios at our Hung Hom campus this year.
From A to Z, design often offers complete solutions to problems. However, designers are more than problem solvers, they are here to explore possibilities and make new ideas.
"From A to [space]" is symbolic of the spirit of designers that deliver innovative solutions beyond completeness. It also commemorates the final Annual Show at the School's current location, Core A.
The show period will be extended to one month, and is as a major event of Hong Kong Design Year 2012.
Annual Show 2012 will include a number of exhibitions:
Graduation Projects - Students in disciplines of Advertising, Digital Media, Environment & Interior Design, Industrial & Product Design, and Visual Communication will exhibit their final year projects. Over 230 students will participate from the undergraduate to postgraduate levels.
Design Research - Hong Kong's strength in design research will be on display, including multiple international award-winning research that are the foundation for more world-bettering design.
Core A Memories - An exhibition of memorabilia collected from our alumni and the School's own archive. The exhibition will cover handwork, yearbooks, photos, prototypes, and other objects for any alumni to enjoy their journey down memory lane.
