For fans of: Bon Iver, Radiohead, Fleet Foxes, Sigur Ros, The National… On a blustery August 2011 evening in Oxford's infamous Jericho Tavern, a little known American Five piece called Other Lives took to the stage and proceeded to blow the minds of everyone in there. Thirty people were in attendance that (now legendary) night, including three members of Radiohead, who went on to book them on the spot as tour supports for their US dates. It's a familiar story for a band who have diligently been going about their business, without the trappings of hyperbolic media PR hype, by staying true to the formula of creating beautiful music and consistently stunning audiences wherever they play. An approach that has also seen them handpicked by Grammy winners Bon Iver to share their stages as well as being one of the breakaway surprise stars of 2012's Coachella Festival. Hailing from Stillwater, Oklahoma, the group meld gorgeous Americana songwriting with the instrumental, classical love of Steve Reich and Philip Glass.
