How to play Tango music in the tango way? Ask an Argentine! Eduardo Tami, the flautist-arranger from Buenos Aires of Argentina, will demonstrate vital elements to make Tango music alive. Himself a flautist, he has developed flute methods and techniques to transform music on paper into real Tango. Besides the flute, he is also keen in ensemble arrangements. He will discuss stylish elements which makes Tango distinct from classical music and jazz, on instruments such as the piano and guitar. Strings and woodwind instruments talk well in the Tango language too! Participants will join in flute practice in class for the special techniques, using famous tango pieces like Café 1930 (from Histoire du Tango) by Ástor Piazzolla. Individuals and ensembles are also invited to show Eduardo their music for advice. So, bring in your instruments and, dance!
