The April running of this walk is a collaboration between Walk in Hong Kong and Urban Diary, a web-based magazine that promotes urban sustainability in Hong Kong. The walk will include a visit to the exhibition “Tales of Sham Shui Po” at 246 Tung Chau Street. The exhibition’s curator Chloe Lai will talk to us about the project as well as how urban redevelopment is changing the face of Sham Shui Po – and Hong Kong.
Tour Highlights:
-Visit decades-old public housing estates to trace the evolution of working class’ lives in Hong Kong.
-Retrace the ups and downs of Kowloon’s history through Sham Shui Po’s long-standing shops and historical streets.
-Tour the quirky flea market in Ap Liu Street and hear old stories about this biggest open-air bazaar in Hong Kong.
