Ceramepic This is a story of ceramics and ceramists. The story begins with Lee Wa visiting the reservoir at Li Ling. As she walked down to the water she was shocked to see so many ceramic fragments; there was debris all over the bank. The blue and white porcelain fragments were layered within the soil, creating strangely beautiful patterns. Each fragment seemed to want to tell his own unique story - of his time and who had created and then finally abandoned him. On the bank the local people were fishing, enjoying life by the reservoir. The many sharp ceramic pieces rested in harmony with their environment, a natural part of the life of the people of Li Ling. This image touched our hearts and we decided to make use of the porcelain fragments to tell their stories via artwork. We would like to explore what these fragments mean to the people of Li Ling and what is their meaning to us, and how we can continue the life of this ceramic debris. How could these fragments be transformed? We want to continue the story of the ceramists who created these pieces. Because of these fragments we have a real connection with their ancient creators, despite the separation in time that exists between those ceramicists and us. What started as a slight impression has grown into an overwhelming feeling of connectedness. Ceramics has a long history in Li Ling. These fragments have been abandoned for hundreds of years. Ceramic debris can last for thousands of years without degrading. Perhaps now is the time for us to re-think the value of ceramics and consider what new meaning there might be for ceramics, thousand years after the birth of this art form. 策展及展出人 Curator and Exhibitor 伍利華 Ng Lee Wa 胡漢鋒 Wu Hon Fung 展出人 Exhibitor 喜果 heyfruit 李慧心 Lee Wai Sum 李美麒 Meiki Lee 盧子琳 Lo Tse Lam 邱穩基 Yau Wan Kei 日期 Date : 24, 25/5/2015 時間 Time : 10:00 - 21:00 開幕 Opening : 23/5/2015 18:30 - 21:00 地點 Venue : 香港九龍石硤尾白田街30號 賽馬會創意藝術中心(簡稱JCCAC)L1 藝廊 L1 Gallery, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, 30 Pak Tin Street, Shek Kip Mei, Hong Kong 查詢 Enquiry : Eva Ng 9803 6558 電郵 e-mail : [email protected]
